Loch Leven

The Loch Leven Trail is the access location for Neptune.   It is a steep, rocky hike of about 2 miles from the parking area. The trail continues to the glacial tarns at the top of the mountain, recommend continuing past the Neptune location to visit these beautiful lakes.

The parking area has pit toilets, but no running water or other services.  There is no water or other services on the trail.

Directions:

  • From Sacramento, take I-80 East to exit for Big Bend
  • Big Bend exit 0.2 mi to Hampshire Rocks Rd, turn left
  • Hampshire Rocks Rd 0.4 mi to Lock Leven Trail-head parking area on left
